1st Birthday Party - Whales, Whales, Whales

Here are some ideas and things I created for my sons 1st birthday party.
And here is what I/We made for the party:

Paper Cupcake Toppers
A purchased Digital Scrapbook paper set from Etsy, a purchased Whale Clipart from Etsy, a little photoshop and some time. Voila! (Note the purchased little Fondant whales from Etsy too)

Birthday Cake
A little time, boxed cake mix, homemade icing, and a little help from mom for decorating. Voila!

Birthday Banner
8.5" x 11" cardstock with printed letters and borders, whole punch and string ribbon. Done!

Picture Mobile with Circle labels
Print pictures, stick to cardstock, punch hole, string curling ribbon and glue little circle to cover up hole punch. Tie to anything you wish for easy memorable decor! Mine were hanging from my chandeliers.

Towel Favors
And yes, this is a White Lace Designs item. Well sorta! I bought CHEAP towels from Kmart for $2.25. I embroidered a whale and each kids name. Tied with a ribbon and done. Adorable and perfect for pool parties. Contact me for custom quotes on party towel favors!

Whale Squirt Toys with "Whale of a Time" Tags
See the little whales above? I bought little whale squirt towels from 1stbirthdaywishes and just tied a ribbon and tag! Perfect favor for small kids, babies and toddlers! All kids like squirt toys right? They were pefect floating in the pool for the party.

Front Door Circle Signs
Again, a little photoshop and cardstock.

Hershey Kisses with stickers
A bag of hershey kisses and a tiny circle printed label. Easy cute favor!

And a few things I didn't make but used:

Whale Pull Pinata - Found it here, but sadly we never even used it!

Bubble Maker - Target on Clearance for around $7

Pool - Again Clearance at Target for around $15 - one pool was filled with water and the other with balls
Plastic Balls in Pool - Found at toyrsus here

Balloons, Balloons and more balloons! - Bought the balloons at Party City and then rented a helium tank! The rented tanks will get you a lot more bang for your buck over the disposable tanks. So I would consider a rented tank.

Overall, I think the party turned out just precious! And for next year.....hmmmm......maybe a crab theme with blue, red and white at Mimi's Pool? Another 12 months to plan that one!

Ooh La La - Lingerie Shower

My little sister is getting married in August, so what else to do besides throwing a cute pink and black themed lingerie shower.

The welcoming Mannequin.

The menu cards and place settings. Used a mixture of my fine china, my mothers china and my mothers antique pink dishes.

Wedding Pictionary. Throw in some funny ones for a humorous night. My husband helped me with some funny ones. Leave it to the men to have the funny ideas!

Panty Guess Line. Each Guest to bring a pair of panties and then the bride can keep the ones she guess correctly.

Appropriate Party Favor. White Lace Designs designed Linen Lavender sachet with lingerie embroidery. (Contact me for a quote)

Ripped pages from bridal magazines, then pasted pictures of the bride as a child over the face of the brides in the magazines. Use them as decorations or as a game to guess the brides age as a child.

Printed favor stickers at Pear Tree Greetings with an engagement picture of the bride and groom. Made cookies in the shape of a wedding dress, decorated with white glitter sprinkles. Cute personalized packaged favor.

"Lingerie" Cookies with pink glitter sprinkles. Ok, so maybe they were bikini cookie cutters, but it does work as lingerie too, right?

Dinner was an Italian meal, and then a dessert bar was for the fun after dinner. How appropriate were these napkins that I found at Target!

Again, easy favors! Turn plain Hershey kisses into personalized favors with little labels!

Cupcakes with cute wrappers and toppers!

So this little bride of mine has been everywhere.....my wedding, my studio and the shower. Her sign is just perfect - Got the Man, Got the Diamond, Done!

And the dessert bar! Mini Cheesakes, Truffles, Marinated Strawberries, Wedding Dress Cookies, Lingerie Cookies, Red Velvet Cupcakes, Raspberry Brownies, Wedding Cake Cookies, stuffed strawberries, Champagne and Mimosas. I think that about covers it all!Note the flag banner that says Lingerie. I don't think I will need it again, so if you are interested in the banner, please let me know and we can work out a deal.

It was truly a cute girly, fun filled, memorable night of events!

Note: All the paper circles shown in pink, black and white were made with items purchased from etsy. To recreate them you will need to purchase digital scrapbook paper from Etsy, a clipart from Etsy and a little time in photoshop or Word.

Saying No...

Anyone that knows me, knows that I am one to always have new ideas. I am passionate about constantly creating something new and new projects! Well since my son was born, I have had to learn to say "No." Not only "No" to my son, but also to others and myself too. I mean, I have had to learn that if someone asks me to do something that I am not passionate about that I need to say "No," and not do it just because I can. This has been tough, but I have had to carry this on and tell myself "No." I used to say think, "Oh, a new idea....a new money making idea." Well, Landon (my son), has taught me that I have to tell myself "No."

So that long, ramble about the word "No" has lead me to this post. Since I am slowly learning that I cannot make and sell all my ideas, I am learning that maybe I should share them...free. SO, here we go!

This week has just been so busy! I can't believe the number of orders that have been coming in...I guess my late nights are starting to pay off!

Later today Nick and I are going to his nieces birthday party. I was told we didn't need to bring a gift, but I can't not bring a gift....So I thought what would be useful for a 4 year old....A new personalized sippy cup!

The Weekend of Baptisms?

I have been contacted about last minute needs for bibs this week...All for baptisms. Not only all for baptisms, but all for THIS weekend. The total count is now 6 bibs for baptisms this weekend!

Each order has been different, but todays order was a request for brown monogramming and satin ribbon. A little different, but it turned out beautiful!

Each of these bibs are 100% linen with a colored 5/8" satin ribbon and monogrammed with matching thread! Absolutely stunning and a perfect addition to that little ones outfit!

A little Crude...But Funny!

I had a cousin to graduate from Florida State University yesterday. He is a typical 24 year old guy! So I was faced with the question, "What do you get a 24 year old for graduation." Well, he is more like a little brother, so I felt it appropriate to get him something a little comical and nothing serious.

So...What better than a towel that reads "Butt" and "Head." A little crude I know, but is was too appropriate for the relationship that we have! I gave it to him and said this would help remember which end was to go where!

I have added this to Etsy in case you would like one too... Other colors available, but this one was colored to match the FSU colors - Go Noles!

Functional Aprons

This was a fun order! A lady from Canada wanted one of my functional aprons for her sister in Tokyo! I was more than thrilled to ship to Japan....I am known worldwide - maybe not but it makes me feel good anyway. That makes 2 international orders this week - Finland and Japan!

This is a simple and functional towel apron. I am most proud of the fact that it is functional! Since it is 2 towels, if you hands get messy while you are cooking....Just wipe 'em on your lap! Its machine washable and you can just toss it in the wash when you are done cooking!

Available in 4 colors - all with free monogramming on either Etsy or Ebay for $18.

Camera Strap for the New Camera

Thanks to my new camera, I have been able to take better pictures of all my items for Etsy and Ebay! But the camera would not have been complete without a little touch of White Lace Designs...so I made a custom camera strap.

New Studio...Well Almost

I convinced my husband to help me a few weeks ago to start on a studio in our attic. As usual I said, "oh, we can finish it in one weekend..." Well, several weeks later we have the lime green paint up, desks made and my ribbon holders up. It is still a work in progress, but it is starting to look so good. Hopefully, I will be able to post the final product pictures in a few weeks!

This new studio has already allowed me to CREATE some of the designs I have been scribbling on paper for the last few months! Check my etsy store often as new items are posted daily.

New Universal Paci Clips

Like I said in my first post, I probably won't update this like I should. Thus 6 weeks later here I am again...

Saturday night I worked on several new designs for the universal pacifier clips and those are now listed in the etsy store!

Tonight I worked on several new burp cloth designs! I will add these new, cute designs tomorrow - everything for the rocker baby to a design for the mom missing happy hour. I am very excited about these new designs!

New Blog!

I am starting a blog, but I know deep down I probably won't get to updating and blogging as often as I should. For those who know me, this shouldn't surprise you :)

I thought that this might create a convenient way for my ebay and etsy friends to let me know if they have ideas for additional items - I love ideas!

Thanks to a co-worker, I am working on creating a puppet stage/curtain for kids. These will be able to be added to any doorway. I also working on an adult half apron in lavendar and chocolate brown - great wedding gifts.

More to come ... Hopefully sooner rather than later!
